To Reach The Top of Toubkal – Sal and Darren Only Reach for The Highest

This Friday we held a special VIP assembly for two gentlemen who are going the extra 4,167 metres (13,671 ft) for a very special cause.  Sal (Mrs Chatterton’s husband) and his workmate Darren are taking on an incredible challenge to raise money for The Bone Marrow Transplant Ward at Manchester Children’s Hospital. In the next week they are attempting to climb North Africa’s highest mountain – Mount Toubkal, which will take three days to climb and two days to descend.  They showed the school the equipment they will need on this amazing but dangerous adventure. (They even asked Miss Bate and Miss Shaw to dress in some of the equipment they will use.) Next we were told how they had prepared for the climb and how they are super experienced. They then visited Year 6 to answer any questions the children had. If you want to make a donation to this amazingly worthwhile charity please go to  and type in ‘Sal Chatterton’ in friend’s name.
