Pupil Premium

Pupil Premium is funding allocated to schools by the government. It is for schools to decide how the Pupil Premium is spent, as they are best placed to assess what additional provision should be made for the individual pupils at their school.

An annual Pupil Premium grant (PPG) of £1,480 is awarded to pupils who have been eligible for Free School Meals (FSM) during the past six years and £2,570 for pupils previously looked after by a local authority or other state care or currently looked after by the local authority.

Service pupil premium is additional funding for schools with pupils who have parents serving in the armed forces. Pupils in state-funded schools in England attract the service pupil premium grant, at the rate of £340 per eligible pupil.

Our Pupil Premium Strategy outlines how we spend our Pupil Premium at Worthington Primary School.
