We are a County controlled (Trafford LEA) co- educational school for pupils in the age range 3 to 11 years. Head Teacher: Mr Clive Searle
Today we have been notified that a team of school inspectors will visit the school on Tuesday 18th and Wednesday 19th February 2020.
You will have already received notification of the next steps via Parent Pay. However, I have attached the letter sent to all parents today for your information. Please do try to find time to visit the Parent View online survey.
17 February 2020 Dear parent or carer
Inspection of Worthington Primary School by Ofsted
We have just told your child’s school that we will inspect it on 18 February 2020. The lead inspector will be Tim Vaughan, HMI. We are writing to you because we would like to know what you think about the school. Please take a few minutes to read the leaflet which came with this letter. It explains why we inspect schools, and what happens during an inspection.
Your views about the school are important to us
If you are a registered parent or carer of a pupil at the school (including pupils on sick leave or who are temporarily excluded), you can tell us your views about the school by completing Ofsted’s online survey, Ofsted Parent View, at: www.parentview.ofsted.gov.uk.
Ofsted Parent View asks for your opinion on some aspects of your child’s school, including the progress made by your child, the quality of teaching, how the school deals with bullying and poor behaviour. It also provides a free-text box for you to make additional comments, if you wish. The inspectors will use the online survey responses when inspecting your child’s school. Written comments can also be sent to the school in a sealed envelope, marked confidential and addressed to the inspection team.
To register your views, you will need to provide your email address, which will be held securely. It will not be used for any purpose other than providing access to the online survey. Neither schools nor Ofsted will have access to any email addresses.
Please complete the online survey by 11am on 18 February 2020 as this will give the inspection team more time to consider your views. However, we will consider all online responses that are completed during the inspection, although the free-text box facility will not be available after noon on 19 February 2020.
Speaking to an inspector
If you are unable to complete the online survey, it may be possible to speak to an inspector during the inspection, for instance at the start of the school day, or to pass on messages to the inspectors if you are unable to speak to them in person. Inspection administrators will be happy to make the necessary arrangements. If concerns are raised about child protection, we may have to pass the information we receive to social services or the police. You can contact the administrators on 03000131833. Inspectors will be pleased to receive your comments, but cannot deal with complaints about individual pupils or settle disputes between you and the school.
Thank you in advance for taking the time to complete the online survey.

We can now announce that our P.T.A Christmas Fair raised an incredible £2,285.39 profit. The difference that this will make to the education of each and every child in our school will be enormous. Thank you all for everything you have contributed towards this amazing event.
The P.T.A. has been magnificent all year, and already this term, together has raised well over £3,000 in profit from the various events organised. Without their dedicated hard work and determination, we would simply not be able to raise this amount of money, and I want to thank every member of the committee for their incredible support to every child and member of staff.
Of course, none of this could be possible without YOU and YOUR CHILDREN. Thank you to all those who prepared the Fair, helped run the Fair, helped put the Fair away, and of course to all those who brought something for the Fair, bought raffle tickets and/or came to the Fair and spent some money. Here’s to the next event!
We are delighted to now be able to share our plans for expansion with all our website users. The extension will house our Upper Key Stage Two classes and will be linked to our existing school building via a corridor link. If these plans are accepted by Trafford Planning Committee, then construction work will begin around Easter 2020, with a completion date of September 2020.
Following our consultation event with residents and school users on Wednesday 27th November, you can view our plans as set out below. If you wish to make a comment about these plans, please contact the school via email by clicking the ‘Contact’ Tab on the home page of this website.
What an amazing amount of harvest goods were collected by us all on the last day of half term. Every item was sent directly to Mustard Tree – a charity in Ancoats, Manchester, that works alongside many of the homeless in our nearest city. We want to thank them for the great work they do and all of our children, parents and staff who gave so very generously.
Our recent Book Fair has raised the incredible sum of £517.86 for our school library. Thank you all so very much for coming along to the school entrance area and taking a look at the books on offer. You might have noticed during your visit last week to parents’ evening that we have been refreshing our school library and every penny raised from the Book Fair will support your child in reading new and exciting material from the library.
